Mauricio Mendez

Triathlons Prodigy Child

Mau, as he’s known by his legendary coach Lesley Paterson, stormed the Xterra race scene as an 18 year old at the Xterra World Championships, where he took 1st Overall Amateur.  His first year as a Pro did not disappoint, picking up several podiums and laying the bricks for a solid triathlon career as a young pro.  He proved he’s here to stay with an impressive 5th at the World Champs, beating athletes twice his age.  Mendez plans to challenge himself at the 70.3/half distance in 2015 as well as continue with Xterra racing. Keep an eye out for his name as he is guaranteed to do great things in sport.
