Lauren’s childhood was filled with constant activity, and she learned to swim at a young age. However, she wasn’t introduced to competitive biking or running until after college. In 2007, after graduating from Mizzou, she competed in her first triathlon on a borrowed mountain bike wearing a baggy cotton t-shirt and long, red shorts. But that race changed the course of her life.
It was a steady progression towards racing professionally. In 2010, she raced in the coveted World Championship Ironman in Kona, and in 2011 as an Age Grouper, Lauren finished every race on the podium. The following year, 2012, she had an undefeated season as an Elite Amateur and naturally made the professional transition in 2013.
Lauren started off her pro career with a top 5 finish at the highly competitive Lifetime Chicago Olympic distance race, and shortly thereafter, secured her first professional win at that distance. From there it was an Ironman 70.3 debut win, a full season of top 3 performances at Ironman 70.3 events, and another 70.3 win to wrap up the 2014 season. In 2015, she performed consistently with podium finishes at each race capped with a top 10 finish at the Ironman 70.3 World Championship event.
She lives with her husband Brandon and running partner Sydney a golden retriever in Kansas City, KS. In 2016, she leaves a full time career in marketing and social media management to invest fully in sharing her graceful spirit with the 70.3 podium. Lauren has earned quick respect in the pro ranks and industry for her easy going style, professional demeanor and Mid-Western values.
